Boys Don’t Cry (86 Mix) is being released digitally and physically for the first time in 40 years.
Initially released as a standalone single in the summer of 1979, Boys Don’t Cry became the title track of the US edition of the band’s debut album, Three Imaginary Boys. The song has gone on to become one of the band’s signature tracks and achieved international success in 1986, when Robert Smith re-recorded the vocal and remixed the backing track.
Although this new version was created to promote The Cure’s first best-of collection, Standing on a Beach – The Singles, the LP itself featured the original recording.
